Monday night we were waiting for the sunset down at Ricketts Point. This boy wandered across in front of us paddling in the shallows wearing gumboots and obviously on a mission. Suddenly he bent down and picked up what appeared to be a jacket, wrapped it around his neck and continued. There were a pair of socks by the water edge however no other articles of clothing were visible………………..

Reminds me of the three little kittens sent by their mum to find what they lost. I hope he had some pie waiting for him when he got home. 😀
Very nice how each line of the haiku matches up so well with each photo.

Actually his family were further up the beach and inland a bit. They did not seem happy when he threw the article around his neck. I think he received something verbal soon after!!

Poor lad, probably was an innocent enough decision just not a convenient one for the others…children do so love making choices like that, curiosity is hard to resist!

He was a teenager so I suspect he was just a little bit dreamy

Intriguing haiku and photos. Isn’t it strange for there to be a jacket and socks in the water? Perhaps the treasure seeking boy fell asleep near the water’s edge and when the tide came in it stoled his jacket and socks and the boy is simply taking them back. Ha, ha. You always make me think, Denis. Well done. 🙂

Hmm, interesting Vashti, there was nothing suspicious in the water although the jacket was under… Last year some drug pushers killed and dumped a man close by in the bush and 45 years ago a teenager was shot and killed late at night in the car park and this was never solved. Beautiful by day here but sometimes a bit creepy at night.

I enjoy the water softly rippling in the sunset with a silhouette of a boy. A perfect haiku story that happened to fit the challenge!

What a beautiful sky colour~~~ The backlight boy picking up his jacket or whatever it was only adds interest to this photo. Perfecting timing 😀
