summer breeze
blows through fur and hair
clears all minds
A windy day at Johanna Beach down near the Otway Ranges of Western Victoria. This was Charlie’s first big holiday and we were away for a week across Christmas and New Year 2007 staying on a bush property kilometres from the nearest cafe and many more to the closest town. The bottom image has appeared is an earlier post but the first one showing Jill and Charlie had not and I thought the pictures together were a perfect fit for RonovanWrites Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge 141 Breeze & Blow. To debunk the theory that haiku is a lot of Hot Air read many other breezy poems at https://ronovanwrites.wordpress.com/2017/03/20/ronovanwrites-weekly-haiku-poetry-prompt-challenge-141-breezeblow/

Lovely Easy died suddenly and humans were so sad, me too, and now they have a little one… Of course nothing cause to forget beautiful Charlie and Lovely Easy, and our Cat, Mad! They have now da Phenny, and we have Princess… But I always remember my all cats… memories never gone… I hope I didn’t make you sad, I just wanted to share my thoughts friendly with my heart. You are welcome, have a nice day and new week, Love, nia

Thanks for your kind thoughts Nia. We have been offered an Afghan Hound pup some weeks ago. We met the pup and its mother and 5 siblings and fell in love. BUT we have made plans to travel until late May. We had to explain this to the friends who offered the pup because they want the pup to go to a home now. In early June we will talk to the breeders again. They are good friends and they gave us Charlie. They also have a two and a half year old girl who is a show dog but they do not think she enjoys having to be a perfect show dog. She is a beautiful Afghan and looks like she is Charlie’s full sister. So maybe in June Nia I will be posting a message about a new dog in our lives. You must have been understanding the hidden messages in my Charlie post.

Charlie must hve loved that big, empty beach 🙂

She sure did but never ran run free there. An Afghan has to be about 6 or 7 usually before they are safe off lead in free spaces.

Seters are very much the same, they don’t even start to grow up until then… and never quite manage it.

Charlie had a good Irish Setter friend called Grace. Grace still stops at our gate looking for Charlie and always gives me a kiss or a jump around and play. And yes Grace is always on a lead.

Oh bless her. I grew up around Irish Setters… they are my favourite creatures. Ani is half English and half Toller.

I always wanted an Irish Setter as a kid then off to uni in Melbourne etc and it never happened. Suddenly an Afghan appeared in our newly married lives in 1974 and 5 Afghans later… By coincidence a couple down the street from where we have now lived for 33 years have always had 1 or 2 Irish setters, Grace is their latest. Ani is a very special dog Sue.

Ani is an incredibly special being, Denis… and I know I’m not the only one to think so 🙂
My great-grandparents had setters and three of them, Meg, Rory and Bonnie…a mother and her pups…were my special friends growing up.

Thanks Xenia its one of the best surf breaks in Australia but deadly for the inexperienced. Charlie always smiled for her photos even when she was very ill near the end.
