resting gulls
Sunset at Ricketts Point earlier this week seemed to be pacifying the resident seagulls into settling down for the evening. Whatever is in the air has a filtering effect on the last moments of daylight now Autumn is arriving. The evenings have been fairly ordinary and suddenly since eight days ago spectacular performances are again put on for waiting photographers.
Gorgeous colours. It makes a nice backdrop for the gulls.

Interesting lighting you’ve captured, Denis. It almost looks unreal. Loved the sun’s stream of golden reflection in the first photo. ❤

Thanks Olga. Its all up to the camera technology, its amazing what happens when a zoom lens and a bit of menu fiddling occurs. Who needs photoshop?

Beautiful sunset photo, Denis! I really don’t like the smell of seagull. I want to gag whenever they’re nearby.

Thanks Joyce.
Seagulls here don’t smell Joyce, are you sure its not the environments you smell at times?

Denis, I don’t know. After that Sea Gull shrine encounter, now whenever I see them I smell them? Probably in my head. It was soooo revolting pungent though. http://localgirlforeignland.com/2015/10/02/kabushima-shrine-samemachi-aomori-japan/

Now I understand your memories Joyce. The shrine is a breeding ground and they hang out in large numbers and therefore deposit lots of body waste on the ground and everywhere else. This is what you smell, not the lovely little birds. In Melbourne the equivalent is an island down near the heads so people don’t smell it unless they got our there . So have pleasant memories of the birds Joyce and bad memories of their S…
