nature paints
rainbow of colour
lorikeet
A rainbow lorikeet caught in the right setting and angle looks like a Paul Gauguin painting. I have shared them in a number of haiku posts but they keep demanding new appearances. This is my contribution to the one a week Photo Challenge and this week for number 43 the challenge is PAINT . For this years 52 weekly challenges planned by Cathy and Sandra visit Cathy’s blog at https://nanacathydotcom.wordpress.com/one-a-week-photo-challenge-2017/

Beautiful photographs and haiku Denis – we do not have lorikeets here and it is always a treat to see them on your blog! ☺

Thanks Xenia. They are OK in small numbers however they are in large and noisy flocks here, over adapting to this suburban feed environment.

This bird appears to be painted by a god that loves dramatic color. What a treat being able to see it so up close.

They come into our garden quite often The colours are camouflage from a more tropical environment.

I like the photos and the way you have arranged them… in the shadows, speaking from the foreground, back view, front view. They are painted birds 🙂

Beautiful birds! Denis, these pictures are amazing. It’s as if the birds are posing just for you. That bottom picture is so adorable with the lorikeet looking back over its shoulder at you. I love it!

Thanks Vashti. You are correct they do pose. These birds fly into our front yard for seed sticks and carry on if they have to wait.
