colour performance
setting sun

Last night at Ricketts Point the “after sunset” kept getting more colourful as the rays played with light on the underside of cloud layers that sat high in the sky. Even the birds were watching. There were probably over one hundred human watchers scattered around the bays either side of the point. Todays weather forecast was for high 30’s oC and a North wind.
It was certainly predicted by the intensity of last nights sunset.
Wow!

The main test of patiemce is deciding which nights to venture out in expectation. This all happened in the moment of ten minutes.

That reminds me of going out in freezing temperatures in the middle of the night, waiting for the Northern Lights.

Occasionally we see the Southern Lights from the same place at 90 degrees to the left, (South) and usually this time in January/February. It was a lot warmer that evening.

They sure are S ue. We have a rare combination of weather patterns and marine/land geography that gives us fantastic sunsets at times.

I can see that, Denis. I wish I were nearer the coast here.

This post answers my question on your previous post. Such firey colours…no wonder everyone was watching. I hope the bush fires don’t go crazy this year.

We have had bad fires in Western Australia however the east coast has had a lot of rain this last 8 months plus over 60% was burnt out last Summer.
